Nicole Gregson was a Light the Night Bright Star for 2021, as she has raised over $7,725 for the Leuakemia Foundation. We could not be more grateful for Nicole’s support. In October last year, Nicole lit a gold lantern in memory of her Dad, Graeme, who passed away in August that same year.

Nicole was the event organiser for the Light the Night team ‘Light the Night for Dad’, and they raised an incredible $15,777 collectively! We would also like to thank each and every member of her team for joining us to Light the Night.

“We lost the most wonderful husband, father, pop, brother and friend. He battled extremely hard through this past 12 months but lived a wonderful life, full of fun, love and laughter over his 60 years,” Nicole said.

Nicole was looking forward to having Graeme with her for Light the Night, so she could light a blue lantern in support of his blood cancer journey.

“We started this fundraiser with blue lanterns that sadly changed to gold after Dad lost his fight. Dads’ blood cancer journey lasted one year, almost to the day! The doctors told us he was made of steel and if he couldn’t have made it through the unrelenting hurdles he faced, no one could have. We lit the night for a very special man who has taught us all the true meaning of strength and love.”

Above all, Light the Night is about hope. Hope for Australians who are currently facing blood cancer, hope for the 53 Australians who will be diagnosed tomorrow, and ultimately hope for a future free of blood cancer.

“The devastation this disease has caused our family has been worse than we would have ever imagined. Our hope is to raise money so that one day soon no other family will have to have been through what our Dad went through.”
