What is Light the Night?

The Leukaemia Foundation’s Light the Night is a virtual ceremony taking place across Australia on Friday, 30 September

There’s an incredible community out there, many hundreds of thousands strong, who have faced life with a blood cancer. Light the Night is an event for our community to stand together, show support, raise vital funds, and share hope.

You are not alone... Every person whose life has been touched by blood cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma is invited to be part of this beautiful community event.

Everyone can take part — no matter where you live or how you’ve been impacted by blood cancer — by joining the virtual ceremony from home, hospital, or afar. All you need is access to a screen with an internet connection to join in.

During the ceremony, the raising of coloured lanterns symbolises the hope we share for a future free of blood cancer and the support of a community that understands the darkness a blood cancer brings to our lives.

The funds raised by those taking part will help the Leukaemia Foundation light someone’s way through the darkest days following a diagnosis — by providing support for families through every scary, uncertain moment that follows a diagnosis.
