Broadcaster of the Year Alice Monfries to MC Light the Night in Sydney
Alice is an ambassador for The Leukaemia Foundation and will be emceeing this year’s Light the Night event in Sydney.
An award-winning journalist and presenter with the Nine Network, Alice covers breaking news, investigates issues across Sydney. She also reports live for the National daytime network bulletins and the Today Show.
Prior to joining Channel 9 Adelaide in 2014, Alice studied journalism at the University of South Australia and worked with Messenger News, The Sunday Mail and Network Ten.
In 2016, Alice was named Broadcaster of the Year by the SA Press Club for her rolling live coverage during South Australia’s flood emergency and statewide blackouts.
She was also recognised by the Press Club as the Best Up and Coming Journalist (in 2010), and whilst at The Sunday Mail, won the prestigious South Australian Young Journalist of the Year Award (2012) for her month-long investigation exposing serious failings and mistreatment in the disability and aged-care sectors.
